As the unit still photographer for the winter Alaska portion of filming, Eric had the incredible opportunity to capture intense moments of this emotional and gripping story.
Additionally, as we approach the release date, the publicity campaign for Percy Jackson and the Olympians is gradually unveiling captivating images. Eric is eagerly anticipating the exciting visuals they will showcase!
Eric Milner, a passionate photographer, was born in 1970 in Vancouver, BC, Canada, where he currently resides. As a dedicated husband and father of two young girls, Eric can be found exploring the picturesque landscapes of the West Coast or capturing the essence of Vancouver’s DTES through street photography. He also indulges in the art of restoring vintage bicycles and actively volunteers with his daughters’ sports teams, dog rescue groups, as well as with ICG 669 union committees and board. Holding both Canadian and British citizenships, Eric is available to work on photography projects worldwide, bringing his distinctive vision and versatile skills to capture diverse settings.
Eric was raised on film and knows our business down to the pixel. Since his high school days, he has been captivated by the world of photography. A chance encounter with a unit still photographer from the crew filming Disney’s The Boy Who Could Fly (1985) near his hometown sparked his lifelong passion for the craft. Embracing his calling, he became a member of IATSE 891 in 1998 and accepted into ICG 669 in 2005.
With a keen eye for detail and an aptitude for utilizing hardware and software, Eric is a self-proclaimed geek in the realm of photography. He excels in color-grading and finds solace in the digital darkroom, meticulously crafting images that align with the creative vision of the director of photography and digital imaging technician. He is known for consistently capturing the desired tone and vision of a project and has earned the trust of numerous industry professionals.
Eric’s expertise in unit still photography extends to various aspects of publicity including key art and behind-the-scenes documentary coverage. Recognizing the pivotal role of the initial image in captivating an audience, he approaches his work with unwavering dedication and attention to detail. His photographs not only reflect the mood and essence of the story but also play a crucial role in the marketing of a film from its earliest stages of production.
